Lead Well Be Well – Tech Tips

For those of you who have read and I hope learnt something from and enjoyed my series on Leadership Wellbeing, this penultimate post in the series provides some ‘Tech Tips’; a list of Apps and websites which I have found beneficial in my wellness and personal productivity focus.

I frequently get asked by my Leadership Coaching clients for suggestions on apps or hacks that can assist them in maintaining their focus on their Wellbeing during hectic scheduling periods or intense travel spells, and for the most part I’ll refer them to one of those I cite below;

  • Headspace – mindfulness exercises in as little as 10 minute segments to improve focus, creativity, motivation, relationships, management of change and stress. Includes walking, cycling, running and commuting practice time – maximize your mindfulness throughout the day. – https://www.headspace.com
  • 7 Minute workout – micro workouts to get the blood going, re-engage the brain without punching a huge hole in your schedule, just 7 minutes is all you need… http://au.wahoofitness.com/apps/7-minute-workout
  • Lumosity – flex your brain in a fun gamified format to improve memory, attention, flexibility, speed of processing, and problem solving – https://www.lumosity.com
  • Map My Walk – if you’ve embraced the walking meeting, keep tabs on just how far they are carrying you and the calories you’re burning in meetings! This app is phone driven, no need for a wearable – http://www.mapmywalk.com/app/
  • Sleep Cycle – track your sleep without a wearable. For those who are interested in when and how they sleep during the night, this app can provide basic sleep pattern information via your phone (just turn all notifications off so the phone doesn’t interrupt the sleep!) https://www.sleepcycle.com/
  • Taste – following from the food group or specific ingredients in the Eat Well, Lead Well this great app can provide recipe inspiration for productivity enhancing eats – http://www.taste.com.au/
  • Lighter – I’ve recently discovered this great site whilst seeking to bring more plant based meals into my day, lighter provides both awesome recipes and a stack of inspiration from high profile plant based athletes, business and wellness leaders, see https://www.lighter.world/
