What is possible?

I’d like to ask you to consider this question:

What is possible?

As we enter the early stages of 2021, what is possible for you this year? What can you achieve? What do you want to focus on? How big can your plan become? What is possible?

This was one of the most poignant questions that came from a Better World Leaders interview with Suzanne Glendenning last year, and has already been remarked on by several of my connections who listened to that episode. Thank you Sue for sharing the provocation and invoking the consideration of what is possible.

So, how shall we consider this question?

To me, this question comes early in the journey to define purpose. What is possible for me? What could I achieve? What is the greatest impact I could have? What would be possible for me to do to make the world better?

Another way to look at or think about variances of this question, would be as a way to examine potential goals from an optimistic stand-point.

What is possible for me this year?

What is possible for my team this quarter?

What is possible for our organisation if we improved our culture and all worked together?

What is possible for the world if we recognise the challenges we face and honestly confront how each of us needs to change in order to address them?

Finally, what further variations could you consider in order to make this question even more poignant for you?

I hope this first question in the Year of Better Questions has been beneficial to examine.

Take care, be well, lead well, and consider what’s possible as you strive to build a better world.
